The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has entered the final phase of its nationwide membership register verification exercise. The process, which aims to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the party’s records ahead of internal elections, has seen a high level of participation across districts. Party officials say the verification will strengthen grassroots mobilization and promote transparency within the ruling party.

Rt.Hon.Richard Twodwong, the NRM’s Secretary General has confirmed to this mighty website that verification exercise of the party membership register is at its final stage

This exercise has hit the 10th day at the party headquarters at Plot 10, Kyadondo, and Kampala.
This exercise is being done by a team of data experts that the Secretariat hired on 22nd, 03/2025 to crosscheck village-by-village details, members’ National Identification Numbers and ensure the village codes are all correct.

Twodwong also revealed that “we are also using this opportunity to screen and separate members below 18 from those above so that we remain with actual voters ahead of the structure and primary elections. We shall later synchronize this information with data of the National Electoral Commission and NIRA to understand how many of our members are registered in the national register”
Since this activity is sensitive, Twodwong explained that they were complelled to closed off the offices to allow the teams to concentrate on ensuring everything is done right.
After completion of this activity the secretariat with guidance from the Central Executive Committee (CEC) will release the electoral roadmap for both structure and primary elections.

This exercise brings to an end a one-year update, verification and digitization process of the NRM membership register that began last year in March
