“Do Good Deeds So That People Remember You” – Rev. Fr. Deogratious David Kibirango

Rev. Fr. Deogratious David Kibirango from Nairobi delivered this message during a thanksgiving mass in remembrance of the life and legacy of the late Ssalongo Mulindwa John at Nkokonjeru Kikwayi-Lugonjo, Buikwe District.

At Dekamos Media Services, we are here to remind you that capturing your great moments is our passion.

While leading the thanksgiving and memorial Service, Rev. Fr. Kibirango, currently serving in West Island, Kenya, urged believers to always strive to leave a positive impact. He emphasized that the late John Mulindwa will be remembered for his good, clean works.

He further noted that it is tragic for someone to pass away and be forgotten because they left nothing of significance behind. He encouraged the heir to remain steadfast and trust in God as he takes on his responsibilities.

The event was attended by Mrs. Awori Esther, representing Hon. Diana Mutasingwa, the Minister of State in the Office of the Vice President and the Woman MP for Buikwe District. Mrs. Awori highlighted the achievements under Mutasingwa’s leadership, including resolving land disputes in the area, the completion of the Lugazi-Kiyindi road preparations, and upgrades to Ngogwe Hospital.

Meanwhile, Buikwe District Speaker George Wasswa refuted claims that the district sold communal land, describing such allegations as false. He urged residents to use their land productively. Wasswa also expressed concern over Buikwe’s ranking as the sixth district most affected by HIV/AIDS, with married couples being the most affected. He called on residents to prioritize health and prevention.

Ssalongo Mulindwa John was a longtime chef for the late Bishop Wiligus Joseph, the first bishop of Busoga Diocese, serving for 40 years. Born on October 1, 1949, he passed away on February 3, 2024.

The heir, Kanyike Andrew, has taken over his responsibilities. The mass was attended by Rev. Fr. Charles Lwanga Jemba from Nyenga Seminary, Fr. Emmanuel Kawaguzi from Busoga Namutumba District, Fr. Annatoli Kigundu from Kayunga, Amos Lugolobi’s representative, traditional leaders, local council leaders, and many faithful Christians.
