St. Cyprian High School Kyabakadde: 201 Students Pass with Top Grade of Result One – Hm Kamya Joseph Urges Uganda to Embrace the New Curriculum for Improved Student Performance

Ugandans have been encouraged to fully embrace the New Curriculum, which has proven to help all students, even those who previously struggled, succeed in their 2024 final exams.

At Dekamos Media Services, we are here to remind you that capturing your great moments is our passion.

Kamya Joseph, the headteacher of St. Cyprian High School Kyabakadde in Kyampisi Sub County, Mukono District, proudly shared that all 201 students who sat for the exams passed with the highest grade of Result One. He celebrated this achievement with the students after a thanksgiving mass held to express gratitude for their outstanding performance.

Many students shared their excitement and gratitude upon receiving excellent results. They thanked their headteacher and teachers for their dedication in guiding them through the New Curriculum, with some admitting they had not expected to perform so well due to the unfamiliarity with the new learning approach.

Despite the successes, some students acknowledged the challenges they faced while adjusting to the New Curriculum. The curriculum required them to adapt to new methods of learning alongside their teachers, but they expressed deep gratitude to God for their achievements, highlighting how they overcame these challenges.

Headteacher Kamya Joseph explained that the impressive results were made possible through the joint efforts of both teachers and students. Even though the New Curriculum introduced new challenges that required flexibility, the collaboration between the two groups played a crucial role in their success.

Kamya further emphasized that, despite its challenges, the New Curriculum should be embraced by all Ugandans. He pointed out that it focuses on applying knowledge to real-life situations, moving away from the traditional rote memorization methods students were accustomed to in the past. According to Kamya, this approach will better equip students for future success beyond the classroom.

With the New Curriculum in place, Kamya believes that students are now better equipped to face the world with a more practical and meaningful education.
