It is time to support vocational institutions established under the Buganda Kingdom to equip people with practical skills for employment, as many are currently unemployed. We must focus on the youth.
These were the words of the Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, during his visit to the Kasawo Institute of Business and Technical Education, a vocational institution founded under the foundation of the Buganda Kingdom in Kyaggwe County, Kasawo area.
This institute was established to provide practical skills to the youth, enabling them to become self-reliant and gainful contributors to society.
Premier Charles Peter Mayiga, emphasized the need to support vocational institutions established under the Buganda Kingdom. These institutions, like the Kasawo Institute of Business and Technical Education, play a crucial role in equipping youth with practical skills for employment, addressing high unemployment rates, and fostering self-reliance.
During his visit, the Katikkiro inspected the ongoing operations and activities of the institute and provided guidance and encouragement to the students and administrators. He also offered motivational support to inspire both students and staff to continue their efforts in promoting vocational education.
Owek. Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko accompanied the Katikkiro on this visit. They were received by the head of the institute, Mwesigwa David, Ssekiboobo Vincent Matovu Bintubizibu, and his deputies, Owek. Moses Ssennyonjo Kiyimba and Frederick Katende.
This tour is part of the Katikkiro’s broader initiative to reach out to all Buganda Kingdom institutions and entities to strengthen their operations and support their development goals.
