This message was delivered by the Parish Priest of Mpigi, Rev. Fr. Deogracious Katerega Kibi, at Seeta High School, A Campus Kigombya, Mukono, during a thanksgiving prayer for students who sat for their Senior Four (S.4) and Senior Six (S.6) examinations last year.

The prayer session was also attended by the school’s Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Ntege, believers from different religious backgrounds within the school, teachers, parents, and students who sat for the exams last year.
The Head Teacher of the school, Mr. Ramadhan Songa, stated that last year, God did many great things for them, including ensuring that their students performed well. Therefore, they had to give thanks to God and place the students in His hands as they prepare to move to the next academic levels.
He urged parents not to abandon their children so that they can benefit from them and so that the nation can also gain from their success.

While addressing the congregation, Fr. Kibi urged believers and students to stop waiting until they are in trouble to return to places of worship. Instead, they should learn to always be thankful, pray, and trust in God, as prayer does not work like marijuana. He emphasized that doing so will enable them to receive blessings in all their endeavors.
Similarly, he encouraged students and believers to actively participate in school activities rather than just being spectators. He emphasized that this world is competitive, so one must ensure they take advantage of every opportunity.

Additionally, Fr. Kibi urged parents to continue supporting their children’s education and not to stop them at S.4. He stressed that parents do not know what their children might become in the future, so they should not prioritize early marriages over education.
