The Mukono District Chairperson, Hon. Rev. Dr. Peter Bakaluba Mukasa, has called upon leaders to continue working together in mobilizing and sensitizing the people of Mukono about government programs aimed at fostering development across Uganda. He emphasized that it is their collective responsibility as leaders to ensure that citizens are well-informed about these initiatives.

This message was delivered on his behalf by his Vice Chairperson, Jorem Kabali Kimera, who also serves as the Secretary for Finance and Administration in the district and represents Nagojje Sub-County. The meeting focused on equipping stakeholders with strategies for economic self-sufficiency and development.

A representative from the Ministry of Local Government, Fredrick Hunter, explained that the primary goal of the meeting was to empower the LEDIC committee in Mukono and explore ways in which the district can generate revenue, especially for those seeking further development. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing tax collection and promoting self-sustaining economic activities among citizens.
Despite the introduction of several development projects in Mukono and other areas in Greater Kampala, Hunter acknowledged that some government workers have been slow to grasp the essence of these initiatives, posing a challenge to implementation.
