Rwandese under the Ugandan Banyarwanda Cultural Development Association (UMUBANO) Task force, today (19/11/2024) held their Delegates Conference and elected their Executive Committee leaders

This very transparent election was held from Musa Courts, Kampala and was attended by over 500 delegates from different parts of the country

The Executive Committee leaders include;

Owek:Simon Kayitana who was elected Chairman.

Charles Ssonga was elected Vice-Chairman

Nicholas Kabanda was elected Secretary

Florence Mbabazi was elected Treasurer

Hon:Mukasa Mbide was elected Legal Advisor

Frank Sserubiri was elected Publicity and Information

This Executive Committee was elected along with a Board of Trustees headed by Mzee Donat Kananura.

After taking oaths, Chairman Kayitana gave an inauguration speech in which he thanked the delegates for entrusting him with the no easy task of leading them.

He pledged to leave no stone unturned to unify the antagonistic Rwandese communities in different parts of the country

Kayitana who also doubles as the Rwandese Representative in the Buganda Lukiiko,in his address rubbished claims that they have intentions of disengaging themselves from Buganda Kingdom or other Kingdoms that have housed them for a very long time to form a new specific Rwandese Kingdom.

This statement was heavily supported by the delegates who in approval applauded Kayitana so much and also sung the Buganda Anthem.

Mzee Kananura,as an elder advised the delegates to always love and cherish their Kinyalwanda descendancy.

Hon: Mbide pledged to fight for constitutional amendments such that all clauses that make Rwandese stateless people in Uganda are crapped out.

Frank Sserubiri who also doubles as Gomba Deputy Resident Commissioner hammered the last nail in the coffin by remarking that “As you can see,all the Banyarwànda in Uganda have today spoken by entrusting us to be their leaders.Our job is majorly to streamline the Rwandese community in Uganda.I therefore send a clear warning to those people who broker appointments to the President to stop taking to him fake Banyarwànda leaders.”

In this same Delegates Conference, delegates approved their new constitution.
