Mukono District Local Government has undergone a leadership reshuffle as Hon. Rev. Dr. Peter Bakaluba Mukasa, the District Chairperson (LCV), appointed Hon. Jorem Kabali Kimera as the Acting Vice Chairperson.

The appointment, in accordance with the Local Governments Act, Cap 243, Section 16(2), empowers the District Chairperson to appoint a Deputy from among the directly elected councilors within the district council.

Hon. Kimera, the elected councilor representing Nagojje Sub-county, replaces Hajji Asuman Muhumuza, who previously served as the Vice Chairperson and Secretary for Finance. Muhumuza, who represents the elderly fraternity in the district, was formerly the District Councilor for Koome Sub-county.

Hon. Kimera’s appointment is pending approval in the next Mukono District Council sitting.

His leadership experience and representation of Nagojje Sub-county are expected to bring renewed energy to the district’s governance.
