Bishop Kagodo Urges Christians to Take Responsibility for Schools Where Their Children Study Rather Than Burdening School Administrators

Bishop Kagodo has urged parents to stop constantly complaining about the schools their children attend. He advised them to take a more active role in addressing any issues instead of burdening school administrators with complaints.

The Bishop of Mukono Diocese, The Rt Rev .Enos Kitto Kagodo, has called on Christians to take more responsibility for the schools where they send their children. He emphasized that parents should play an active role in their children’s education since the government’s efforts, while commendable, are not enough. The Bishop pointed out that many parents mistakenly believe that education should be free and thus invest little to nothing, which in turn yields poor results because “free things remain free.”

Bishop Kagodo made these remarks at St. Philip Church, the seat of Kiwumu Parish in Bukoba Archdeaconry, while leading a prayer service where 122 Christians were confirmed.

In his sermon, based on the theme “Overcoming the Fear of the Unknown,” Bishop Kagodo urged believers to cling to and strengthen their relationship with Christ, entrusting Him with all their troubles. He reminded the congregation that Christ is their refuge and the source of all victories.

Rev. Moses Kafuluma Mpagi, The parish priest of Kiwumu, reported to Bishop Kagodo that some church leaders have struggled to understand their responsibilities and roles within the church, causing delays and weakness in some congregations. However, he expressed joy that Christians in the region have worked hand in hand with the clergy to advance the work of the church.

Meanwhile, Mama Catherine Kitto, the Bishop’s wife, advised the confirmed Christians to live according to the teachings they had received, encouraging them to remain responsible and faithful to God, who will guide them through their journey.
