News from the camp of Betty Nambooze Bakireke, the Mukono Municipality legislator who doubles as National Unity Platform’s Chief Mobiliser for Greater Mukono indicates she’s seated on a hot plate after having received credible information that the Democratic Alliance (DA) headed by the former LOP Owek: Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba has appointed a first eleven team that’s to carry out their grass root mobilization.
This charismatic team includes
Allan Mawanda:The Speaker of Mukono Central Division and councilor for Namumira-Anthony Ward. This is his second term and won it on NUP ticket with 90% votes.
Mawanda in his form 6 vacation in 2011 began national politics from DP
He was primarily charged with mobilizing youths because he has served them in different capacities such as chairman Kyaggwe County Buganda Youth Council.
Jamil Kakembo:In 2006 he broke the record of the first opposition candidate to secure a seat on the Council of Mukono District. He was representing Mukono Central Division on DP ticket.
In 2011,he contested for chairman Mukono Central Division and won.
In 2016,he contested as an independent for the second term and slidely won the DP candidate
Those who followed Kakembo’s politics say he was always able to win because he used a door to door campaign format which even compelled electrolates to nick name him Kigere.
3)Dr.Fred Kayondo:He’s the incumbent Mukono South MP on the DP ticket
He’s among the few people that managed to secure themselves an elective post in the midst of the strong 2021 NUP political wave.
His major task is to mobile mobilization funds
4)Hajji Lukeman Ssegayi:This is his third term as Goma division councilor in the council of Mukono District.
In Mukono opposition is divided into two;
The Extreme right opposition: These are strong opposition cadres who are very devoted to Nambooze and are fondly found of addressing her as “maama”
The Extreme left opposition: These are strong opposition cadres but hate Nambooze up to their last bone.
Since Hajji Ssegayi is a moderate politician, his major task is to first of all bridge the gap between the extreme left and right opposition figures and afterwards bring them on board.
5) They selected a woman.
HOW THESE MOBILISERS WERE APPOINTED
Our reliable sources split beans that these mobilisers were chosen from a meeting of what acts like the Working Committee of the coalition.
This meeting sat on Tuesday(4th,02/2025) from 2PM-5pm at the coalition’s headquarters located at Bishop Road,Mmengo-Kampala and was chaired by Henry Luboowa,who’s the acting Secretary General.
WHAT WAS MOST FOCUSED ON?
Identifying of the coalition’s grass root mobilisers across the country was the major item on the agenda but as the discussion carried on, the attendants decided to mainly focus on appointing mobilisers for Buganda region because it’s where they have most of their political capital(the support) and that’s how the 5 Mukono mobilisers were appointed.
THE APPOINTED MOBILISERS HAVE A GRUDGE ON NAMBOOZE
Our sources disclosed further that when it came to identifying Mukono mobilisers, the meeting attendants were extra careful.
In spite the fact they were interested in good orators that can speak and bananas even fall, they were more interested in people who were Nambooze’s close allies yet now the hatred they have her is of the entire universe.
The game was deliberately played dirty like this because ever since Mpuuga clashed with NUP’S President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu especially on the matter of the 500 million service award, Nambooze shocked many when she joined hands with people who where crucifying Mpuuga whom she was fond of calling a “big brother”
Nambooze’s efforts to appease Kyagulanyi became increasingly clear when she turned tables at Buganda’s Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga as he tried to defend Mpuuga
Mukono based political analysts argue that although Nambooze has done a lot of nothing for Mukonians,she has always been re-elected because she;
1)Had good mobilisers
2)has a good manipulative tongue that can convince someone that milk is tastes sweater than honey
3)is a good political drama actor
4)Is very intelligent
These add on that the mobilisers Mpuuga appointed equally have Nambooze’s talents and to make matters worse they know her in and out for example Mawanda once served as Nambooze’s personal assistant.
This means Mpuuga recruited a team that can effectively dilute Nambooze’s venom on him and also reveal her dirty secrets.
In Political Science what Mpuuga did is called “Reverse Psychology” which means defeating the enemy from his or her own strategy/game/methodology.
One of Nambooze’s yes man disclosed to this mighty website that ever since Nambooze got to know of this plot, her blood pressure raised.
WHO HATES NAMBOOZE MOST?
Mukono political analyst say among the people Mpuuga appointed,Kakembo loathes Nambooze most.
The Nambooze-Kakembo relationship began to crack in Kakembo’s first term as Chairman Mukono Central Division
This was basically sparked off by Nambooze’s trait of always wanting to sit on others which Kakembo resisted on ground of despite the fact that they both subscribed to the same party, he had a different angle from which he observed things and as a leader, he to had his own priorities .
When Kakembo complained about this Nambooze’s uncalled for behavior, instead of knowing her limits, she just got angry. It’s at this point Nambooze began to hatch plans of how she could uproot unroyal Kakembo from office.
Since Nambooze was more ranked than Kakembo in the DP,she used her influence and blocked Kakembo from being accorded the party ticket. Disappointed Kakembo run as an independent.
Analysts add on that because Nambooze was more than determined to end Kakembo’s political career, she always drugged his name in mad during the campaign trial for example when Police brutally beat up her supporters in Mukono Industrial area as they escorted her home, she accused Kakembo of having connived with police and goons to harass her supporters.
Ibra the younger brother to Nsensebuse Mary Suzan whom Nambooze had endorsed for party ticket instead of Kakembo was among the people who were most brutalized.
Nambooze while addressing a rally in Nasuuti town, she asserted that the goons who had beat up Ibra, had been arranged by Kakembo to revenge for denying him the party ticket.
When Kakembo won, he’s supporters avenged on Nambooze by molding a statue out of her, dressed it in a green gomesi with blood flowing out it’s private parts and they placed it at the entrance of the main Mukono Market
To date Nambooze says that was the worst humiliation that has ever happened to her.
