Archdeacon Ven. Charles Bukenya, alongside Maama Miriam Bukenya, visited St. Andrew Mavunikire Kabembe Church of Uganda in Kiyunga Parish, where he issued a strong warning against the theft and misuse of church land.
He emphasized that church land is sacred and reserved for divine purposes, urging those involved in encroachment and exploitation to stop immediately.
During the visit, which included a Holy Communion Service and a baptism ceremony for nine individuals—three of whom were Muslim converts—Archdeacon Bukenya addressed issues hindering the church’s construction project.
Ord. Kaddu Derrick Mbojjana, overseeing the project, reported incidents of land encroachment and theft of construction materials.
Archdeacon Bukenya also encouraged parents to prioritize nurturing their children, stressing the importance of proper care and guidance.
Rev. David Mukooza of Kiyunga Parish praised Ord. Kaddu’s dedication, which had galvanized community support for the construction project.
The event was attended by Owek. Fred Katende Kangave, the deputy Ssekiboobo of Kyaggwe County, who urged church leaders to adhere to established policies in decision-making.
