The 9th Archbishop of the province of the Church of Uganda ,His Grace Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has urged believers to remain faithful in their families to restore moral values, lead healthy lives, and uphold their traditions rather than engaging in behaviors that dishonor God.
He emphasized this call during a thanksgiving service for the Archdeacon of Nakibizzi, Ven. Canon Robert Kiwanuka Mulinde, and his wife, Rebecca Mulinde, as they celebrated 32 years of marriage. The couple renewed their vows and exchanged rings during a ceremony held at St. Apollo Nakibizzi Family Church of Uganda, the headquarters of the Nakibizzi Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Mukono.
The Most .Rev.Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, after officiating the renewal of vows, encouraged Ugandans to remain steadfast in their homes, emphasizing the importance of restoring morals, living righteously, and preserving cultural values instead of pursuing unproductive behaviors. He urged people to abandon activities that bring dishonor to God.
The event was graced by former Mukono North Member of Parliament, Hon. Johnson Muyanja Ssenyonga, who commended the clergy for their dedication to serving Christians wholeheartedly and for their tireless efforts in fulfilling their pastoral duties. He encouraged them to continue their service with diligence and love for the congregation.
Similarly, Naava Harriet Kato Nambaziira Mwenyango expressed her gratitude to Christians for their unity and the love they have shown towards the clergy. She urged them to act with humility and offer to God from what they have, as blessings come not from abundance but from a heart seeking God’s favor, which fosters both spiritual and physical growth.
Ven. Canon Robert Kiwanuka Mulinde extended his heartfelt gratitude to Christians for their unwavering support, love, and encouragement, which have enabled him and his wife to serve the church and achieve this milestone of 32 years in marriage.
The thanksgiving service was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the retired Bishop of Mukono, The Rt. Rev. James William Ssebaggala, Ven. Canon Edward Balamaze Kironde, who was the service programmer, as well as other Canons, Archdeacons, clergy, Lay Readers, politicians from various levels, representatives from the Buganda Kingdom, and Christians from different regions.
