The Archdeacon of Nassuuti in the Diocese of Mukono, Ven. Kenneth Rottan Kampi Lukwago, made these remarks during a special Thanksgiving and Dedication service for 623 students from Mukono High School who are about to sit for their S.4 and S.6 exams at St. James Ham Mukasa Nassuuti Archdeaconry Headquarters.

Lukwago expressed concerns about parents, particularly fathers, abandoning their responsibility of raising and nurturing their children, urging them to remember that these children are gifts from God.
Fredrick Kawumi Mbaziira, the Headteacher of Mukono High School, has also called on the Ugandan government to pay teachers equally, stressing that all teachers carry out the same duty of educating the nation’s children.
Kawumi explained that favoritism in salary payments among teachers has significantly affected the quality of education in both government schools and schools that receive partial government support.
He further urged the government to increase the provision of teaching materials in schools, such as textbooks and other essential resources for learning and exams.
