In a remarkable celebration of dedication and perseverance, the 4th Bishop of Luweero Diocese, Rt. Rev. Wilson Kisekka, presided over a special Thanksgiving ceremony in honor of Mr. Mukiibi John Danze at Kabuye village in Ndejje Town Council. The event highlighted a rare and inspiring milestone—59 years of continuous service at Ndejje Secondary School, dating back to May 1965.
Born on July 28th, 1939, Mr. Mukiibi, now aged 85, remains a beacon of health and vitality. Remarkably, he can still operate the school’s printing machines with sharp eyesight and impressive physical strength, a testament to the grace of God and his unwavering spirit. Throughout his long service, he has witnessed and worked alongside all nine headteachers who have led Ndejje Secondary School.
As a veteran of Uganda’s tumultuous history, Mr. Mukiibi reflects with gratitude on how God has protected him through the political, tribal, religious, and professional challenges he encountered. He survived the storms of war and conflict, sustained by his faith and dedication to his role.
In his address to the congregation, Bishop Kisekka praised Mr. Mukiibi’s unwavering faithfulness in God’s service, describing him as a shining example of steadfastness. He urged the congregation to emulate such devotion by trusting in God to guide and bless their own life’s journey.
Mr. Mukiibi’s extraordinary story does not end there. As the security guard at Ndejje Secondary School’s gate for 56 years, he made history when he boldly insisted that then-President Idi Amin sign the visitors’ book before entering the school—a moment that stands as a symbol of his integrity and commitment to his duty.
Mr. Mukiibi John Danze’s life and service are a living testimony to the power of faith, hard work, and the grace of God. His legacy will continue to inspire generations at Ndejje SS and beyond.
